Reform efforts bear fruit: Breakthrough in Qinzhou Port area
The Qinzhou Port area in China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone has achieved a series of significant milestones with its latest reform initiatives, recognized as a national model for replication.
Faced with challenges like limited direct ocean routes and inefficient sea-land logistics, the area introduced the "Full Lifecycle Management Service Reform" for cross-border container logistics. This initiative includes process reengineering and digitalization, culminating in a sophisticated port service platform. Key innovations include integrated sea-rail monitoring for seamless customs clearance and the establishment of automated terminals.
Owing to the reform, Qinzhou Port's cargo throughput surpassed 100 million metric tons in the first half of this year, with over 3.35 million standard containers handled. Furthermore, professing time for import and export clearance has been reduced, enhancing operational efficiency by up to 96.68 percent since 2017.
This achievement not only enhances regional logistics capabilities but also propels Qinzhou Port to a top-tier position in China's maritime sector, establishing a model for sustainable economic development through systematic reform and collaborative endeavors.
